The Cupra Terramar is a new compact SUV powered by an internal combustion engine, based on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB Evo platform.
First presented two years ago, the model is now ready for production and represents an important step in the brand’s expansion. Unlike the electric models Tavascan and Born, the Terramar aims to reach a broader audience by retaining traditional combustion, offering a more accessible option with greater range.
The car will be available with five powertrain options, including mild and plug-in hybrids, as well as gasoline engines. The highlight is the two eHybrids, featuring batteries that allow for up to 113 km of electric range.
The Terramar’s design follows Cupra’s distinctive style, with signature elements such as triangular-shaped lights and copper details, along with alloy wheels of up to 20 inches.
Inside, the SUV features a 12.9-inch display and improvements to the user interface, along with more sustainable finishing options. The suspension and steering have been tuned to ensure a more agile driving experience, with various driving modes like “Comfort” and “Off-road.”
The model is expected to have a starting price of around $52,600, with deliveries planned for the first quarter of 2025.
